In 1973, the Little Rose Chapel Shrine was built in Taylor, Michigan by Desneiges “Mother Marie” Anctil and Wilfred Anctil following a profound healing that she attributed to the intercession of Secular Franciscan Mystic, Rose Ferron Marie “La Petite Rose – Little Rose” (1902–1936).
Little Rose is remembered as the first stigmatized person in the United States. During her 3pm Friday experiences of the Passion of Christ, witnesses reported seeing her bear the Sacred Stigmata and experiencing extraordinary manifestations of her devotion to Christ such as bleeding from her stigmata wounds, weeping tears of blood, and bearing the painful marks of a crown of thorns (more on Little Rose here).
People from around the world visited Little Rose as she was known to heal people. Marie Anctil prayed to Christ and Little Rose for healing and was miraculously healed. She then vowed her gratitude by creating a sacred shrine for them for a devoted place of prayer for them.
The Little Rose Chapel Shrine has expanded over the years and welcomes people seeking prayer, healing, peace, and spiritual renewal.
Visitors have reported extraordinary experiences within and around the chapel; including unexplained lights, unusual appearances in statues and photographs, the fragrance of roses, and other signs they have interpreted as reminders of Christ’s presence and Little Rose’s intercession.
Whether you come seeking a miracle, carrying a burden, giving thanks, or simply looking for a quiet place to pray, you are welcome here.
